LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky Utilities say they should have power restored to all of their customers by Tuesday of next week.
Daniel Lowry with KU says they currently have 530 employees and contractors working to restore power to customers, adding that 400 more employees are arriving tonight to help with restoration efforts.
“By Tuesday at 11 p.m. we should have most everybody back,” Lowry said.
While Tuesday is the goal deadline, Lowry says some pay get their power back sooner.
After the storms rolled through, KU had over 190,000 customers without power. In Fayette County, there are approximately 27,000 customers still without power.
Lowry says over 1,300 wires were down in their service territory, but they are working tirelessly to repair any and all damages in order to restore power back to their customers.
