Meteorologist Jordan Smith has your Sunday evening ABC 36 Storm Team forecast
Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Sunday evening and Happy New Year Eve. Temperatures are dropping as the hours of 2023 are dropping. Temperatures will be into the low 30s with a few snow flurries as we turn the clocks to midnight and welcome in 2024.
The first day of the new year will feature high temperatures in the mid to upper 30s with scattered rain and snow showers. With temperatures above freezing, little to snow snow accumulation is expected.
We look dry and just typical cold Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s. But a weak disturbance moves in Wednesday night into Thursday and could touch off a few snow showers and flurries, but this does not look like a big deal at this time.
We catch a break Thursday afternoon – Saturday morning. But all eyes are on Saturday afternoon – Sunday as a big time storm system looks likely across our part of the world. Exactly what it brings is a work in progress as we are several days away, but rain and snow look possible.
Stay with the ABC 36 Storm Team for the very latest on all these systems. #kywx
