Manhunt Ends: Scott County Sheriff’s Office takes fugitive into custody

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky.  (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Deputies with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office have successfully apprehended wanted fugitive, Nathan Ginter, in the Cynthiana Road/Newtown Pike area, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The manhunt, which had lasted for 48 hours, is now over. The fugitive’s female companion, Riley Pearson, was also taken into custody.

Authorities thanked the citizens who provided tips that led to the arrests.

Background: Nathan Ginter, had been on the run and was considered armed and dangerous. Ginter, alongside Riley Pearson, was spotted in the Leesburg community near the Scott-Harrison County line. Ginter was found guilty in South Carolina of torturing his child with waterboarding and a taser but failed to appear for his trial. A $10,000 reward had been offered for information leading to his arrest.

The capture of Ginter and Pearson brings relief to the community, which had been on high alert during the search.
