Junior League of Lexington Holly Day Market

The Junior League of Lexington will host its a holiday shopping event, Holly Day Market at the Central Bank Center, 430 W Vine St., Nov. 19-20 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Nov. 21 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Jewelry, men, women and children’s clothing, toys, books holiday decorations and ornaments art food and more vendors will be there. LexArts HOP – Art By Nature

Lexington Philharmonic concert: Local works by Julia Perry

The Lexington Philharmonic will have its first indoor concert of the 2021/2022 season Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre & Cultural Arts Center, 300 E. Third St. and the show will feature a composer whose first home was just a few blocks from there. Julia Perry was born in Lexington in 1924 and lived for a time on Eastern Avenue. In the 20th century, Perry “was one of a handful of U.S. composers with music published and widely performed, a significant accomplishment all the more noteworthy for an African-American female composer,” according to the Philharmonic. $25 adults and $10 ages 17 and younger. lexphil.org
